July 26, 2010 by Robert · Leave a Comment
Have you gotten to the point of being sick and bored with capturing (plus seeing) the same old photos, time and time again? You've heard rumors that "chroma key" is a route to go, except you do not really understand it or even know much about it? This is everything you have to be familiar with to utilize it as a photography background!
Firstly…What exactly is it?
You'll hear the words "green screen", "blue screen", and "chroma key" tossed around and used to mean the same thing when discussing a photography background.
Chroma key simply could be defined as having a backdrop that is one solid, evenly lit color. The green and blue tend to be the most common colors. Actually, you are able to employ ANY color - but blue and green are easiest. I am going to explain why that's the case in a minute.
Blue screen strategies can be employed in either video and still pictures. You photograph someone in front of the chroma key and then later (or at once working with high quality video cameras) you eradicate the solid color and supplant it with anything you want!
That's how your local weatherman/woman does the weather report. They are standing in front of a blue screen and the camera digitally replaces it and replaces it with the local weather map. They're watching themselves on a television monitor to determine where to point and so on. It can be confusing and harder than you may think in order to be a weatherman!
Secondly…Why blue or green?
Normally we tend to employ green and blue because they are the furthest from the colors present in skin coloration. The procedure was at first done with blue, however as the quality of cameras changes, green appears to work more efficiently. It really is simpler to strip from the background, as a result most studios are changing to green. But it doesn't hurt to have both of them.
One more good point for green is that it creates less apparel conflicts.
Since color is automatically eliminated and substituted, if the subject has on a hue of that color (blue) in their outfit…it will be substituted. You will frequently see shirts and ties that turn out to be amusing appearing holes in the model - showing through to the replacement background.
It has even occurred with blue eyes!
Green tends to generate not as much of a apparel conflict, it happens to be simpler for the cameras to work with also it's simpler to light uniformly.
Smooth illumination is important since shadows on the backdrop will show in the ultimate result. This can destroy the realistic effect of the photography background. And more, using uneven light, you would create assorted hues of the color…a number of which might not get eliminated correctly.
The 3 major kinds of blue screen backdrops are: paper, fabric and paint.
Paint is nice when you've got a studio which has a cove and you do all your work there…you'll find it worthless in the event you ever have to go on location.
Paper is available in huge rolls, but is easily ripped and always needs to be replaced. This will get pricey in a hurry.
Cloth tends to keep going best and is transportable. And fabric is easy to wash (soiled green screen backgrounds won't work well).
Any material supplier can provide some cloth which will accomplish the work. Buy some and do some testing with your photography background, any photo editing program can strip out the color. Test it, you will like it!

July 22, 2010 by Robert · Leave a Comment
Way back in 1981 SONY a leading electronics company has introduced digital cameras to the consumer market. With new options and immensely increased quality the manufacturers of digital cameras have brought the standards into a much higher levels than what it was when digital cameras were first introduced back in 1981. Nowadays digital cameras go up to around 14.7mega pixels which are very high in picture quality.
With the technology updating rapidly, cameras which were made a couple of months ago are not in much of a demand. With cameras getting outdated so quickly understandably there are more discounts been applied on them. Trying to sell products as soon as possible is what retail shop owners are looking for. So the marketing is not only applicable for digital camera makers but also to the third party sellers. This is where discounts come into action.
Discount digital cameras are seen more often these days than ever before due to the fast increasing technology and the competition. Customer knowledge on digital cameras is higher and their interest is wider, and they always demand for better quality. As the quality of digital cameras is increased day by day customers prefer buying an expensive new version rather than an old cheaper version of it. Because of that, older technologies get more and more discounts in order to attract more customers hoping it will somehow be sold. With the competition building up so rapidly manufacturers tend to sell discount digital cameras at a more cheaper prize than their opponents in order to cope with the less demand on older cameras. Dropping down an option or a feature which was previously available is one way of giving a discount and reducing the price of a digital camera and used as a strategy to attract more customers. This happens when the manufacturing company puts up a survey about any of their newly introduced products and finds out that expected profits are not achieved. Since the product is already put into the market the only thing they could control is the price to cover up the manufacturing cost and possibly gain profits.
In today's world people find it difficult to keep up with the technology since the improvements are done too fast and the prices spike sky high. So people sometimes tend to think about the depreciation of the price and tend to go for an average quality product with basic options, where discount digital cameras could come in handy.
After all customers have to get to know that a discount value has been put up on a certain discount digital camera and hence the internet comes in handy with some advertising websites which are readily available. Discount digital cameras certainly cannot be rejected even though it is not a profit gainer for both third party and also the manufacturer since it is the customer who should decide whether to buy it or not.

July 18, 2010 by Robert · Leave a Comment
While you are scuba diving, you happen to be no doubt astonished by the beauty and grace with the marine world and desire to share it with your household and friends who you've got not been able to convince to go with you as of yet. Or possibly you just desire to capture pictures of the experiences so that you simply can keep them for your personal enjoyment. No matter the motive, most individuals have a fantastic desire to start finding out marine images pretty early on in their scuba diving career.
If this sounds like you, you could have most likely previously begun browsing your local scuba dive shops for equipment and started reading up on articles and facts published by underwater photography professionals. Whilst you can find plenty of details in this way, a great deal of it's technical and tough to follow. For this reason, the best solution to discover how you can take images marine is always to begin having them after which learn through trial and error.
Your first marine camera will most likely be a disposable underwater camera that functions fantastic for using pictures in shallow depths. This can get you used to taking images underwater but is not ideal for having photos in deep h2o. The next step up from a underwater disposable camera would be the amphibious digital camera. This digital camera is modest, lightweight, and perfect for beginning marine pictures in deeper waters. You possibly can also consider a typical land digital camera, home it, and outfit it for use in upside down photography. Although this will be the most high-priced option, this is the equipment that produces the vivid, breathtaking photographs featured in magazines. Whatever equipment you pick, two points that you simply cannot take marine pictures without having are an external flashgun and interchangeable lenses.
Once you've your gear, the best method to begin is to begin taking pics. Be certain to stock up on a lot of film and take numerous shots of every topic. By doing this you can examine shots and understand out of your personal underwater images errors. Here are several guidelines to get you began:
Get near for your subject. One particular explanation why underwater photography is so challenging is that matter is suspended in the water between you and your subject. The flash reflects away of this material resulting in blurry, obstructed pictures.
Commence photographing little objects initial. This can permit you to preset your apparatus before you dive. Use a flashgun to offer white brightness as monochromatic blue light may be the only brightness that penetrates deeper h2o. Artificial white light is vital in marine pictures for producing sharp, colorful images. Kids can begin with disposable underwater cameras
Placement your flashgun correctly. Your flashgun need to be positioned a excellent distance from the lens axis to prevent reflection of lumination off of suspended issue otherwise referred to as back scatter.
After you get a sense for marine images, you will locate that you just can easily study as you go. Consider many film as this would be the cheapest component of underwater photography. Examine shots, discover from your errors, and you will soon be wowing your pals and family with much more than stories. You may have the photos to back again them up.

July 13, 2010 by Robert · Leave a Comment
There are a ton of HD Camcorders to choose from. How can you be sure that you have found the best HD camcorder for your needs? I'd like to take a look at the Canon HF200 Camcorder, as it is one of the best HD camcorders on the market right now.
Canon has released some great HD cameras in the past few years. The HF200 is certainly more expensive then most of these, but with the increase in price also comes an increase in the camera's feature set that can certainly be comparable to Canon's higher end models such as the HFS10/100. Plus the HF200 is smaller than many of those cameras that are more expensive, and it still gives features similar to what you can find in much pricier models. Here are a few points that make the HF200 one of the best hd camcorders on the market today.
The first thing that came very clearly to my attention was the amazing picture quality that this camera produces. The video is briliantly sharp as this camera produces images very close to what the human eye sees. The camera shoots well even in low light and night situations. The camera has a 15x zoom, making landscapes especially nice to shoot. The zoom combined with the HD picture starting at 1080p can make for some fantastic outdoor shots.
All of the features are easy to use and to access. Video Snapshot mode allows you to create 4 second clip highlight reels and then edit background music into them. The intermediate battery life for the cameara is about 1.5 hours. This is generally more than enough time to record, unless you are making a movie. If that is the case, there are longer lasting batteries available from Canon that can double, or in some cases quadrouple that time.
The real sticking point for me with this camera is the video quality. The features are great and easy to use. But even if they weren't, I just don't see it getting any better then the HF200. Competitors have tried to create video that is as good as Canon's, but thus far I haven't seen anything come close. And since it uses an SD card, you can easily transfer video from the camera to your computer in a snap.
Costing close to $1249, it is a more expensive camera, but the video quality and features certainly make it worth it. Cheaper competitor cameras have not even come close to the HF200 in terms of video quality or features. I really think Canon has made a great product, which is why I would say that the HF200 is absolutely one of the best HD camcorders available.

July 11, 2010 by Robert · Leave a Comment
I have been wanting to give a Canon HF200 Camcorder review for quite some time, but haven't been able to until now. Let's see how it compares to some other models. What I found from my review has really impressed me. Let me first tell about some positives of the Canon HF200 camcorder.
Your canon HF200 Camcorder comes with everything you need to get started straightaway: battery, AC adapter, USB, A/V, remote, and all component video cables. There is a 184 page manual written in English. Software that comes with the camera includes a software program that lets you edit and manage the video you shoot, and one for transfering video using Pixela Image Mixer 3. You can also add music to the 4 second highlight reels that you make using the Video Snapshot feature.
The Canon HF200 Camcorder has the best battery life out of all the cameras in its class. The image quality, the quick focusing capability, OIS, and the fact that it is incredibly comfortable to hold, makes this camera a difinite favorite for me. Not to mention, this camcorder is just plain fun to use. Can you find a cheaper camcorder? Absolutely. But, wont you will find absent from this cheaper product is the extensive feature set that comes along with the Canon HF200 Camcorder.
Here are some benefits I discovered:
* Size - Weighing in at only 13.9 ounces, the HF200 is an extremely lightweight camcorder. It is also small enought to fit into a jacket pocket or purse. It is easy to hold onto, and the buttons and features are all easily accessible.
* Video Snapshot Mode - This is a fun feature that I love about the HF200. It allows you to create 4 second clips that you can use to create highlight reels. The Video Snapshot Mode is controlled by a button on the side of the camcorder. There is a blue outline that appears on the display that lets you know that you will only be recording a short clip.
* Image Quality - The HF200 video quality is amazing, and it has a sharp quick focus ability. Colors are deeply saturated and crisp. CigicDV3 technology is responsible for producing solid images in the dynamic range. Recording indoors will produce those rich color images just as well as recording outdoors.
The SDHC Memory card is another great feature about the HF200 A removable memory card is easier to deal with than internal camera memory. You can have instant access to your images via your computer by simply inserting the SD card from the camera into your computer.
* Batter Life - 1.5 hours is the average Canon battery life. This is much better than another brand I recently tried. Canon also has batteries that you can purchase that will double, or in some cases quadruple that.

July 10, 2010 by Robert · Leave a Comment
In the field of photography, one of the most demanding is underwater photography. Unlike other forms of photography, it presents a lot of technical challenges. However, thanks to the many inventions made in the field of science & technology, underwater digital cameras have, at last, have caused the shooting of underwater pictures completely an enjoyable activity.
You may be a marine scientist or a biologist. Or else you can be a qualified underwater cameraman. No matter what it is, what with the options they have, underwater digital cameras on sale at present give a headache to the buyer as selection of the best camera is concerned.
Digital imaging has been making very long strides in the field of photography and is replacing film as the image capturing media very fast indeed. This is true in the case of underwater photography too. Traditional film cameras are being replaced by underwater digital cameras. This is due to the various plus points of digital cameras over film cameras.
Firstly, underwater digital cameras allow the photographer to shoot as many photos as he likes, but this not possible with film cameras. You can confirm the status of the captured image in digital cameras on the spot, but this is not possible at all even with above-water film cameras, let alone underwater cameras. There is no cost for film or processing in a lab for digital imaging, which makes it cheaper than the film type in the longer run.
Further, it is easy to adjust and control images captured in a digital camera on a computer. Actually speaking, you can do a lot of editing work on digital images. Duplication of the images is very easy and you can send them to anyone you wish without any hassle. Although there are very slight returns in shooting pictures on film in the form of less early expenses, the benefits of underwater digital cameras overshadow those of film cameras to a great extent.
Underwater digital cameras, like most standard digital cameras, come in different sizes and shapes. Assess what your underwater photo-taking needs and wants are well in advance and make an intelligent selection from the wide range of underwater digital cameras on offer in the market today. Your clever selection will help your underwater photographic experiences really memorable ones for years to come.

July 1, 2010 by Robert · Leave a Comment
These days digital camera technology is changing all the time. And the price of these cameras has really dropped quite a bit over the last number of years. You can actually find a fantastic digital camera these days for a really affordable price. Many people make the mistake of purchasing cameras that are not really suitable for their needs and this means that within a short time they are on the lookout for a new one. This is bit of a waste of money and could be avoided if people thought a bit more before buying. Here are some things you should consider before purchasing digital cameras.
- The first thing you want to do when purchasing a digital camera is to decide what you want to use it for. You do not need to choose a really advanced camera if you are only planning on using this camera sometimes.
- Make sure you have a good look at the camera before purchasing. Some people have no problem paying for a camera which they haven't even had a look at outside of its box. If you have decided to buy your camera online then you can't look before you buy but you might want to find the same camera in a camera shop to have a look before you get a cheaper price on the internet. If you would prefer not to do this then the best thing to do would be to look through the customer reviews on the site.
- Make sure that they LCD screen is big enough for you to see. These days you can get some very small LCD screens but these can be hard to use. It is probably best not to choose anything less than 16 inches.
So the next time you are thinking of buying a digital camera, you may want to have a look at the advice above.
More and more people are shopping for their goods online nowadays. People seem to be buying everything online. From things like monitors to laptop memory, if you know where to search, then all the very best deals can be had online. Also, many individuals shop for items such as laptops from online stiores also.
